If you look carefully at the automobile displayed on the Fleetwood Rotary Club emblem

 - the banner given to Rotary visitors from more than 180 countries throughout the world - you will see that it is a 1917 Packard with the "Fleetwood" body style. At the Fleetwood Rotary Club, that classic Fleetwood style is prominently displayed in its service to the community.

Rotary is a service organization of business and professional individuals united worldwide who conduct humanitarian projects, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and work toward world understanding and peace.

The youth in the Fleetwood Area School District and the Oley Valley School District are the beneficiaries of many of the projects of the Fleetwood Rotary Club. Every month during the school year, the Club honors one student from Fleetwood and Oley, as well as one teacher each semester, for their outstanding commitment and achievements. These exemplary individuals are introduced at a breakfast where their individual scholastic achievements are summarized. Students are presented with an embossed dictionary, and teachers are presented with a cash award that can be used to purchase supplies to enhance their classroom effectiveness.

The Club awards a $500 scholarship at graduation to two deserving seniors from each of these local school districts. The Club also sends two students from each school district to the three-day weekend leadership training outing at Rotary's Camp Neidig in June of each year.

The Fleetwood Rotary Club sponsors a Fleetwood School District student organization called Interact. This group provides an opportunity for high school students to learn about and participate in the powerful impact that Rotary has on the world. The annual Student Exchange Program provides an opportunity for a local high school student or students from one of the two school districts to live and study academics for a year in a foreign country such as Peru, New Zealand, Venezuela, Japan, Argentina, Germany, Pain, or Brazil. The Fleetwood Rotary Club also hosts one student each year visiting from a foreign country. Club members and friends provide housing, schooling opportunities, and cultural experiences to youth from countries such as Argentina, Germany, Finland, and Ecuador.

The Fleetwood Rotary Club sponsors a number of events and fundraisers throughout the year, including its Gourmet Gala, Car Show, Family Picnic, Chicken Bar-b-que, Citrus Sale, Phillies Strike Out Hunger baseball game, "Adopt-A-Highway", and Christmas Celebration. Club volunteers deliver food to individuals in our community through the "Meals on Wheels" program.

The Club's largest fundraiser is its car show, which attracts over 400 antiques, classics, muscle cars, and hot rods from across our region to Fleetwood Park.

In the summer, Fleetwood Rotary Club, along with the Fleetwood Lions Club, and the Fleetwood Council of Civic Organizations, staff the four-day-long "Fleetwood Days" carnival and fair with activities for young and old alike in Fleetwood Park. Proceeds from these fundraisers enable our club to sponsor annual community service projects, youth programs, business, and vocational events, international projects, and provide sustaining support for institutions and groups, and to respond to the needs of local and international victims whenever disaster strikes or emergencies arise.

Quarterly membership dues and individual contributions from Fleetwood Club members help to fund the Rotary Foundation which provides tens of millions of dollars annually to dozens of international projects with worldwide impact.

The Fleetwood Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. at Moselem Springs Golf Club.
